August 2, 2005
MEMBERS PRESENT: Nancy Christiansen, David Jiles, David Miles, Ray Metz, Chris Van Horn
MEMBERS ABSENT: Frances Collinwood, Rob Marks, Richard Stewart, John Nist
HOMEOWNERS PRESENT: Monty Tuengel
The meeting was called to order by Nancy Christiansen on Tuesday, 7:00PM at the Firehouse on 108th St. Written agenda is not available.
[MSP] Meeting minutes of June 2005 approved, with corrections.
Comments from Monty:
Lake Water- Much of the North lake has been raked. The water has been very clear.
The jetski has been in use to help with the weed raking and it’s limited use was approved by the Board.
1. Picnic tables- the new tables need to be preserved with some top coating. This was agreed to become a work party task for the Fall work party. There are two tables that are deteriorated enough to be scrapped. One is at the top of 107th St. and the other is on the North lake.
2. Proposal by Mr. Giffard to buy some common area land behind his house. Similar proposals have been explored in the past and determined to be too difficult/expensive to implement. We need to respond with a letter to Mr. Giffard.
3. Tennis court- some people have requested keys. As stated by Rob when he fixed it recently, the lock, which has been repeatedly vandalized may not work with some keys.
1. Car prowls (Chris Van Horn)- There have been at least five car prowls on 102nd St. The criminals are driving a blue Dodge Caravan and have been seen as early/late as 4:45AM. The sheriff has been contacted in most cases, but they do not consider this a priority call. In one instance, it took at least ˝ hour for the sheriff to arrive and investigate.
2. Summer party (Chris VH, Nancy Christiansen)- This event went very well and came in under budget. There is also enough money to give a donation to the band. In addition, the party had a jumping gym, child fingerprinting, face painting, parent/child races. Ribbons were given for 1st/2nd/3rd places and it was observed that every child went home with some prize. It was estimated that there were over 30 families that participated. Party expenses need to be accounted for.
3. Maps- Some board members requested copies of the Hilton Lake map. David J. needs to update with new names and distribute.
4. Ivy covering street sign- John N. has brought this up as an issue. We will trim it during the work party.
